John has had over 30 years' experience in social and policy research and evaluation. His work has included survey research, qualitative research, demographic analysis and program evaluation in a wide range of policy areas including health and health promotion, education and training, housing, family and youth services, communications, immigration and settlement, corrections, drugs and alcohol, employment, environment protection and Indigenous affairs.
He holds legal as well as social science qualifications, and has also worked extensively on legal services and representation, legal education and the legal profession, law reform and alternative dispute resolution.
